NICE SMART VALLEY at European Utility Week in Amsterdam

NICE SMART VALLEY attended the European Utility Week running from 3 – 5 October 2017 in Amsterdam, manning the stand for the European InterFlex project as well as the Enedis stand. Of particular note here was a motion design video of the smart grid demonstration but also the presence of the operational pilot, Thomas Drizard, along with other consortium members.

Each year the large-scale exhibition welcomes more than 12,000 participants and more than 600 exhibitors in order to exchange and spread the word about innovative issues concerning the energy sector (smart grids, energy storage, cyber security, smart meters, smart cities, renewable energy sources, etc.). Over the course of three days, European Utility Week brings together the full array of energy actors, public service experts, energy operators/suppliers, as wells as startups.

Visitors were able to view the InterFlex stand’s thematic films about storage, islanding, the demand response, grid automation, network complementarity, and electric vehicles. NICE SMART VALLEY was at the core of two different discussions organized by Engerati, an international community of energy professionals. Thomas Drizard, project manager of NICE SMART VALLEY at Enedis, Guillaume Lehec, Department Manager at Engie, and Guillaume Virmaux, Head of European Affairs at GRDF partook in a panel discussion concerning flexibility. The second round table discussion hosted by Engerati brought together two representatives from the consortium to discuss the issue of islanding: Thomas Drizard and Nadège Clerc, Infrastructure Marketing Manager at Socomec. The conference entitled “The Future of the Energy Sector” on October 4th allowed for the NICE SMART VALLEY demonstration to be displayed to a large audience.

The presence of NICE SMART VALLEY at the European Utility Week reaffirmed the role of the French InterFlex demonstration and its position within the European smart grids.
